No trip to Oregon is complete without a visit to Crater Lake. Crater lake, located in South-Central Oregon, is a one-of-a-kind body of water, famous for its vibrant blue color and deep waters (it’s the deepest lake in the United States). About 7,700 years ago, the lake was formed after a violent eruption triggered the collapse of a tall peak. Perfectly situated along the Cascade Mountain range, Crater Lake is a marvel to tourists as well as the scientists who research it.
Mazama Village Campground is located 7 miles south of Rim Village, just past the park’s Highway 62 entrance. Enjoy hiking, lake tours, biking and fishing nearby.
